I’m not really a fan of watching what everyone anyone else is doing. I abide by the school of thought that says when you focus on yourself, do your job as best you can, and have some skill behind this mentality, you’ll be in your own class.
But there is one reason/benefit to looking at what others in your lane are doing: you can see what they all lack, and exploit that opening by providing it and expanding your competitive advantage.
It’s important, though, that you have this objective and strategy firmly in your mind when looking around. Without it, you browsing the competition could have the influence of having you doing what they’re doing, because that’s what you see.
