Paradox Of Being A Leader

The paradoxical thing about being a leader — a person people want to follow — is that your ability to stand alone and do what you do is the quality that attracts followers.

You can’t be a leader if you always feel the need to have people support or agree or go along with you. Russell Simmons always tweets something along the lines of, ‘the easiest way to get something is to stop chasing it.’ Desperation repels.

When we want something too much — the youth are now calling this “thirst” — that energy pushes people away. Not giving a fuck makes people curious. Why does he not care if we follow? That draws them in.
