The Breakfast Test for Carb Tolerance

The most simple field test for carb tolerance is eating carbs for breakfast.

You wake up and you rate yourself on a scale from 1 – 10 for energy, 10 meaning very good, 1 meaning you feel like shit.

Then have a high carb breakfast, say pancakes and maple syrup.

An hour later, if you feel sleepy and want a nap, then carbs aren’t for you. You are more suited for the meat and nuts breakfast. If you feel more energetic and ready to climb walls, then carbs are for you, you lucky bastard.

This simple test correlates very well with the challenged insulin lab test.

Of course, if you have the shape of melted candle, then high simple carb breakfast are not for you…yet. Stick to slower-burning carbs such as oatmeal and blueberries.

Enjoy the carbs your metabolism can handle
